Brushes: Grouping

Isn't it a pain having about 264 brushes sets with only a few brushes in each set? This tutorial will help you group them into one file.

Organization

Having too many brushes in the default Photoshop Brushes folder, C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop 7.0\Presets\Brushes, will take your application an eternity to load. Therefore, it is best that you only place your most favorite sets in there. The rest of your brushes can go to another directory somewhere in your computer perhaps.

Also, I would suggest grouping brushes from the same creator so you will not have trouble crediting them later on.

Loading Brushes

  1. Load the first brush set. Brushes Tools -> Load Brushes.
  2. Repeat the same step to any other set needed to be grouped.

Saving Brushes

  1. Once you have loaded all of your brush sets. It is now time to save them for later use. Brushes Tools -> Save Brushes.

  2. A new prompt will show up for you specify a file name for the brushes, type your desired file name and save.

  3. Once this is completed. Feel free to delete the old brushes sets that you have used to group into this new one. Other than that, have fun organizing your brushes.
