I thought this image from Aethereality.net's image gallery was so pretty that I just had a make an icon tutorial for it.

1. Got my image from here, cropped and resized into icon size.
2. Sharpen, duplicate, set blend mode to burn at a 60% opacity.
3. Adjust -> Hue and Saturation -> Hue/Saturation/Lightness (Hue: -180, Saturation: 0, Lightness: 0).
   

4. Add new layer fill in with blue color #021336 set blend mode to exclusion.
5. Add texture from colorfilter and set blend mode to lighten.
   

6. Done! Add text if you want... and please remember don't use this pic when making your icon when using this tutorial.
